We are hearing MAGA will fall apart when Trump is gone. How did we get here? Trump did not govern alone. Congress enabled him. The Supreme Court expanded presidential immunity. A proto-fascistic political movement backed him. Trump may leave. The forces that empowered him won’t.

SCOTUS has proven in its last rulings, following on from the last 10 years, that it is fully onboard with authoritarianism. We need to elect people who will work to increase the size of the court, or other methods, to make the court act within democractic ideals.

Democracy needs more than resistance. It needs organization.

Unions organize workers. Movements organize constituencies. Community groups organize neighborhoods.

The missing task is organizing these organizations into a common democratic force.
