Bonanno's newest concept, Rōmyō. Cocktail list has room to grow and service was a little clumsy, but the Italian/Japanese menu is playful - katsu wagyu? Udon carbonara? Supremely delicious crab fried rice? Plus, you eat in a luxury train car themed booth as you watch the Italian scenery go by.

Slices of grilled eggplant and zucchini, over sautéed jammy tomatoes, cottage cheese and herb blend, topped with cherry tomato and scallion. So happy we got the little camping grill for the balcony. Grilled veggies are peak summer.

It's International Cat Day? This little gremlin just turned 17 in July. She's in the early stages of CKD and has aggressive arthritis, so every day with her is a gift.

Finally made it to Domo! We ate outside in the courtyard. The garden was relaxing backdrop for the delicious food. Should I come back and learn aikido?

It cooled down enough that I didn't cringe at the mere thought of turning on the oven. I riffed on this NYT recipe by subbing scallions for red onion and adding some leftover butter lettuce and rice noodles that were languishing in the fridge. Link to recipe in comments.

We finally made it over to Champagne Tiger. Sat at the bar, enjoyed a McMorty sandwich and shared some coffee cake. Can't wait to come back when it's cooler to sit out with a drink on their huge patio. www.champagnetiger.com
