At 5 in the morning the president and his party are focused on the really important things for every day Americans: a luxury golf course
Trump: "The Department of Interior wants to take a terrible and very unsafe golf course, and make it into a great, safe, and prestigious golf course ... They do not need an approval. Work is scheduled to begin IMMEDIATELY!"

No one is asking for a flying car. They're asking for a safe and affordable car and public transportation. Stop being a loser.

The latest Musk publicity stunt with his “”””flying”””” car illustrates the broader issue with a lot of the tech industry these days (particularly AI, but related to enshittification in general) in that:

What pressing problem is this supposed to solve, and does it do so efficiently and effectively?

Regardless of if you agree or not, this is exactly how you answer this sort of question. A direct answer with a pivot to your focus. A firm "Yes, but relatedly, this is what I'm focused on in health"
10/16 Maine Senate candidate Troy Jackson would vote to impeach RFK Jr. if it came up; Senator Susan Collins still does not regret her vote to confirm him as Health and Human Services secretary #maine #MEpolitics

Trump: "They want to cut your children. It's unbelievable what they do. Your son leaves as Jimmy and comes home in three days as Janet, and they don't even ask you. They can take your child out of school and do whatever the hell they want. Minnesota is one of those states."

Hey, there IS this One Weird Trick to making sure that healthcare payments don't go to insurance companies....

Tens of billions for Trump's war.

$0 to stop your health insurance premiums from doubling.

That's a choice Republicans made.

Economist here: Job lock isn’t an indication workers are “very happy”—quite the opposite, actually. It’s a sign workers are staying put because alternatives are drying and leaving risks their benefits. It signals a cooling labor market, slower wage growth, and degrading overall economic wellbeing.
Trump Labor Secretary Keith Sonderling: "We're seeing people staying in their jobs longer now ... we're seeing people very happy where they are in their jobs because employers are doing better."

Latest WSJ poll:

"63% want to pause AI development
61% want a billionaire wealth tax
59% want Medicare for All
57% want a $20 minimum wage
58% want to end U.S. military aid to Israel"

This is the center of the country politically. it is time all adjust to this political spectrum, esp. media.

Collins endorsed virulently anti-choice politicians while claiming Maine women's reproductive rights are safe. But if voters did what she wants and elected them, they'd repeal our great laws.

That's one of many ways Collins misleads on abortion. #mepolitics amyfried.substack.com/p/collins-ma...
