Playing tennis today with a group I don't know well and we started talking about small boats and there's just so many misconceptions (like they get normal benefits, that they can work if they want etc...)

These were smart professional people who read the news.

People of Clacton! Show your support for me by putting a bin outside your house, one day this week, of a colour of Tendring Council's choice. This will be unequivocal proof of the success of my campaign.

I believe Clacton deserves an MP who will spend their time shining a light on everything the area has to offer. And why wait till I'm elected? I've been to visit one of the constituency's most stunning landmarks.

This
Good to see this argument being made more now after two decades of me repeating "but it's a labour market problem" while feeling like I'm banging my head against a wall.
New from me:

Britain’s graduate earnings premium is falling, cue “too many go to university!”

But non-university outcomes are also bad, cue “we must reform vocational routes!”

Both miss the point: people used to think education drove economic outcomes, but the economy drives educational outcomes.

Andy Burnham says he wants to end rough sleeping, how difficult will that be & what approach should he take?

It’s a subject I’ve been writing about for years in Liverpool & the city provides a good test case for the scale of the problem and what’s needed

A long but hopefully useful thread 🧵

This could very well be the most important story in politics for the last decade and a half.

Please read and share this equally harrowing and illuminating account by @carolecadwalla.bsky.social of just how dark the money in politics pit really goes.

Absolutely mind blowing.
Farage, the money launderer and me: a decade of denial
The Reform leader’s relationship with the UK media has enabled him to operate with impunity for years. This past fortnight, that impunity finally appeared to be coming to an end. Carole Cadwalladr, wh...

important thread!
It was inevitable, wasn't it🙄

Of course the Telegraph would run with something like this👇

So let's remove some of the rose-tinted spectacles and also look at some of that data comparing 1976 with modern heat waves

Because the 1976 nostalgia porn is wearing a bit thin at this stage
