Has this delusion ever turned out to be true? Like can you point to a single candidate who has ever run on a moderate platform, won, and then turned around to be progressive? Obama shifting on gay marriage was just him chasing the electorate. It doesn't happen.

Been telling people for years now "by the end of this you're either going to be a fascist or a communist so you should probably just pick now and get to work"

Also very reminiscent of the HP fan tendency of refusing to ever learn to like new things. RHPS is 51 years old! There are dozens of other movies equally impactful and less transmisogynsitic! Watch something new!!!

This might be hard to believe but most people would prefer to suffer quite badly rather than actually die when offered the choice, and it is neither cowardly nor a betrayal for someone to make that choice. "Living on your knees" is not used to describe political prisoners and victims of fascists.

You seem to be skipping over the "MRAP and SWAT team already inside the house" part, Rambo. Who would benefit from this woman being dead instead of (wrongfully) in prison?

Telling people they should just suicide by cop instead of getting arrested after an MRAP drives into their living room is not exactly productive either

The regime requires maintenance. To require maintenance is to be flawed. To be flawed is to be worthy of dissent and resistance. To counteract dissent and resistance is to perform maintenance.

Also plenty of changes during Covid that weren't intentional just never got rolled back. It's probably different in some bigger cities but even simple things like fast food are barely ever open past midnight anymore, and almost nothing is 24hrs besides gas stations.

The gravity of the issue, then, suggests that the correct path forward is to disregard "popularity" in the first place. In a country and culture like this, I think it's frankly pretty delusional to think we'll ever make progress toward police abolition on rhetoric alone.

The slogan will never matter, because the only way to actually get the intended result is to make the government more scared of reprisal from the public than from the police. Unfortunately, putting that kind of pressure on is even less popular than the slogan, generally.
