Went on a fabulous whale watch off coast of MA/NH. Saw five humpbacks, three together, and some minkes. Also this cool Wilson’s Storm-Petrel that stay offshore.

To me, this seems like a tender moment. The eaglet is soon to fly and the parent looks on, seemingly proud. I have no idea what emotions eagles have, though. Cool anyway. #birds

Was thrilled to watch this American Woodcock protect her four eggs for several weeks. I didn’t get to see the chicks but they did hatch! #birds

Haven’t posted in a few months due to phone storage issues. Who knew Merlin saves all your recordings on your phone? I did not and they were taking up my entire storage. Anyway, Happy Earth Day! #birds
