The first paper of my FWF-funded @humevcol.bsky.social project entitled 'Tiny Hopes - Assessing Protein Preservation in Collagen-Depleted Bones' is out! Read now (open access) in the Journal of Proteome Research: pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/...
Tiny Hopes─Assessing Protein Preservation in Collagen-Depleted Bones
Understanding human evolution relies on biomolecular data from ancient skeletal tissues, yet warm climates often cause complete collagen loss, excluding many regions from the study. This research inve...

Excited to announce the launch of a new FWF-ESPRIT project, HUMEVCOL: Human Evolution Beyond Collagen. We aim to develop a method to compound radiocarbon date gamma-carboxyglutamic acid (GLA) for dating significant early faunal and Hominin fossils from tropical regions.
