The stipulation makes the result unpredictable, however Hangman now must win because we cannot have another Cody situation!
I'd have personally made it that Hangman cannot challenge while Max is still Champ rather than never challenge again but that's just my opinion.

Grand Slam Australia was a brilliant show especially being their live.
MJF vs Brody King was a great TV Main Event but at no point did I think King was going to win and that becomes the problem with MJF's title reign in the early months.

AEW needs to find a way to make challengers to MJF especially early in his reign feel credible instead of predictable.
Brody King is a monster, and he needs to feel like a threat not just a time filler till we get to an Omega, Swerve, Hangman etc.

The majority decision was that the Royal Rumble was booty cheeks BUT those vast majority will also tune into Raw then Smackdown to see what's next which is why the WWE creative team never feels the pressure to make the product better.

People will continually say "AEW fumbled Cody (39yo) & CM Punk (46yo)" and while short term that's true, long term AEW "choosing" Jack Perry (27yo) & Hangman (32yo) over those 2 will work out beneficial for THEIR business.
Businesses should always be looking long term imo.
