LRP: reading this like…I do wholeheartedly agree, but I think that there’s something off about comparing artists being inspired by other artists to…erm… AI. Like, it feels close, but I wouldn’t have put it like that for various reasons. 🤔

in case it’s ambiguous—no, i am NOT implying that doing a redraw trend is as bad as using A/I that‘s trained from massive amounts of unlicensed data, implicated in mass environmental harm, etc!

thinking about the popularity of so many "redraw trends" and plagiarism of compositions by all sorts of artists (it comes up often for gposing but 2D artists do it too). i have to sum up my discomfort with it as follows: it's artists treating other artists the same way A/I treats art as data

Erotica must be a little bit cringe, a lil bit gross. If you think your tastes line up exactly with the most formulaic romance where everyone kisses very normally and Tab A goes in Tab B perfectly, I think you are doing yourself a disservice. I might go so far as to say it lacks bravery, or honesty
