Definitely middling- middle aged, middle of the road etc.
Keen on books, photography, crafts, languages. Always learning, always curious.
Went book shopping today and failed. While it seems Easons now has a decent fantasy section and a smaller science fiction section, they didn’t have Jasper Fforde on the shelves.

Why do online lessons trundle along, and you think yes I’m getting to grips with this, and then it doesn’t so much step up a gear from beginner to intermediate but lightly trips from beginner to super grand master?
You’re just left sitting there going WTAF, I’m no longer sure I can do this.

It seems that my loan repayments are finished but it bothers me that there was no confirmation or acknowledgment from the other side to say we’re done.
On the other hand that’s a chunk of my money that now belongs to me!

I love that the British Library does online events!
This morning, I’ve selected 4 Agatha Christie talks and a 1 maybe - I’ve something on that night but it is available afterwards - and a China Miéville talk - I’m particularly looking forward to that one.

Tell me why?
I’m in Italy, and I see Paris on the telly and I’m thinking, I miss Paris - it’s weird!!!

It seems I drive like an Italian bus driver.

After 2 grappa I am definitely more than half cut. but after and early start this morning, I don’t think I will need any rocking tonight.

Well F on it anyway. I don’t go into the city much apart from work so today’s decision to actually go in was big (not major but still big) I almost backed out. I’m now sitting here all ready to go but the bus has been cancelled and I have to wait another 45 mins - at this point, why bother?

Oops!
I’ve started playing with neocities.org for some unknown reason.
I’ve never done a tap of html in my life so now all I want to do is sit down and figure how to do it.
A lot of the sites remind me of early internet- I’m feeling nostalgic.

I had notions of treating myself to a break away in Scotland sometime towards the end of the year (or from now ’til the end of the year) - it turns out I don’t love myself enough to pay the prices I was looking at.

I’ve just realised I didn’t win the lotto - so it seems I’ve to set the alarm again tomorrow!

Don’t Be Derisive

I'm watching Persuasion, yet again. The version with Ciarán Hinds, it's my ultimate comfort (the book is also a comfort). However, it reminds me that earlier this week I was a bit snooty and it rebounded. I bought a ticket to see Deirdre O'Kane next year in September. I knew I'd…
I knew I'd bought a ticket for 2027. This week an email arrived in my inbox in relation to the gig - I thought it was to say it was cancelled or something, but no it was to say they'd had several enquiries about the gig and this was a reminder that it wasn't that evening but in fact next year.

I asked for the key to the pub but have a feeling I typed my email address in wrong - either that or else it's not an automated email (a discounting of bots etc)
If I get the key then I think that is where I'm going to settle <- or maybe that's just me being optimistic.

I’m now on series 4 of Bab5 and I have serious objections to Marcus’s new hair cut - some opinions never change 😆

I’d have cheerfully strangulated the lovely individual who parked outside my bedroom window at 03:20. It must have been a diesel engine as it woke me up, and again when it went away again (didn’t look at the clock)

I’m feeling a tad contrary.
I want to read, just none of the books on my shelves.
Awkward!!

I think I am regressing!
The library has Nancy Drew books available on BorrowBox. For some unknown reason this has made the child the child that I was very happy.

Well SUGAR!!
Remembering to take the chicken out of the freezer when you’re already on the bus into the office means I have the full day to figure out what is going to the surprise dinner.
That’s so annoying!!
