Can’t believe the Bluetooth monitoring isn’t a bigger story. Many of these cameras aren’t pointed at the highest traffic areas. It all begs the question “how much more data do they need?”, but maybe it’s actually about “you can't organize against tyranny if you have no privacy.”

Or instead of just believing only one party should be responsible, we can look at watergate republicans and demand ALL of our representatives regardless of party should be held to the oath of office.

Being old enough to remember, Americans got their evening news for free during dinner hours. Back then if you wanted details you picked up a paper. Lots of people had subscriptions, and they were cheap. I think people don’t want to pay for news, or don’t know what to believe, that’s the challenge.

I think the bigger problem is that in this country, every overblown piece of legislation has its equal and opposite force. You can debate what Bernie AOC or Zohran believe, versus candidates with DSA tags, but it’s safe to say trickle down doesn’t work, and centrists haven’t bridged the wealth gap.

It’s all a mess. The longer you look the worse it gets. I’m staying away from the “top gun volleyball” aspect of it. I’m just trying to figure out how anyone could prompt this, look at the result, and not try again before posting it anywhere.

This is PPP loans all over again. Only this time they won’t bother with the “loan” part. It’s a cash giveaway, and just as before, the people that get it, will have very little to do with the original transaction.

This post started at, “we don’t really get a choice”. Bernie was an independent, the DNC knew it. Allowed him to run as a Democrat (with whatever magical thinking they used), and then blocked Independents from running for an Independent. Seems too much like changing rules in the middle of the game.

I think “how people feel about what the parties intentions are”, is irrelevant. It may be the DNC left its core voters because of corporate $ and needed to pivot. The most glaring difference between the parties up until 2 yrs ago was the R’s were lockstep, with the D’s being a circular firing squad.

One could argue the fact that so many people who otherwise hate politics were “feeling the Bern”, and then looked at Clinton and thought they’d rather vote for the Apprentice host.

I think they never wanted him, but liked what they thought they were getting from him. Not they can’t put the shit back in the horse.

I’ll go further and state the “super delegates” went against their districts votes in many cases.

He was running on the democratic ticket. On the other hand, independents weren’t allowed to vote in the primary. Again my point, our democracy is still spoon fed to us.

The republicans must have something wild on this guy. Normal person till he got sick, flips completely after ‘24.

I think if you measure it in 1981 terms. Mujahideen not great. Iran-Contra not great either. How many South American problems do we now face versus Middle East problems? But the effect Afghanistan had on the USSR led them to bankruptcy and the willingness to de-escalate the arms race.

Not to Michael Moore this, but DWS admitted they swung to Clinton and left Bernie out because of the lack of fundraising. Something about “Obama didn’t share his money with the DNC”.

Biden got more done in 4 years with an opposition congress than the last 6 years of Obama. Clinton gave up Glass–Steagall, which partially led to 2008. In terms of Reagan, I still don’t think the private sector gains and a USSR crippled by Afghanistan make up for the rest of it.
