I made a short video condensing my process of making a tag necklace featuring Splatoon idols. It was my first time making short form content, I figured I'd share it here as well!

Yeah so this holo material is not working well with my badge machine

...with that, the card prototypes are complete! I have a few points I've learned here that I'll use to make modifications for the next batch I make.

here is one of my cards in a prototype of my original acrylic card holder also inspired by Splatoon :)

After cutting out the cards the final step is to round out the corners. It makes more of a difference than you'd think, they look much better with the rounded corners in my opinion...

CW: blade

Using an old school guillotine (borrowed) to cut the cards! Unfortunately this was quite difficult because the machine was designed for thicker materials, got a bunch of wrong sized cards because the initial cuts gave frayed edges :(

but the machine is super cool!

Speaking of the spray adhesive! Basically I'm printing on card, then gluing a second layer of card onto the back. You really cannot tell the cards are made of 3 layers. This is going pretty high on my adhesive ranking list. (Acrylic cement, on the other hand... maybe I'm using it wrong)

More card making updates! Finally got prints I was happy with. Applying the laminate was a bit annoying due to having to align it and avoid creases and air bubbles, it's thinner than I expected it to be. The spray adhesive is awesome stuff though

Card prototyping process. I've finished the first piece of artwork for my custom photocards. The next task is wrangling with the print settings to get the colours to be accurate... as you can see they're... not

Today I'm figuring out my setup for printing cards. I previously made my own cards with a manufacturer, but I'd like to be able to do it myself. Using some old artwork for the test prints since the new files aren't ready yet... finding the right paper and settings is tougher than it seems
