wright is the modern spelling of a noun derived from the verb work. Wrought is the old past tense of the verb work. Both developments are in Old English. A similar prehistoric sound pattern is involved in think/thought.

One hopes not but "trendings" is such a drawn-out snivel of a word. Trendies was best word for the job. Social media posting is trawling for eyeballs, anyhow, not writing, says me.
