As previously seen on the bird app.

She/They. Queer. Possibly a Fern. 🌿 Can be found chittering at crows, drinking wine, and cooking. Likely whispering at spiders.

Pro-choice. Pro-vax. Pro-EDIA. Anti-zionist. Anti-billionaire. Anti-AI.
The fact that my coworkers mock me for being a physical vs digital media girly and tease me about being anti-tech while also expecting me to oversee our entire IT infrastructure is so ridiculous but more worrying is the fact that none of them realize it like

Please. Guys. Seriously. Wtf.

Imagine if my coworkers knew how badly I wanted to quit. Imagine if I told them.

Imagine.

My coworker asked why I don't just use AI for something and without a single solitary thought in my brain or pause to consider tact my mouth decided to reply with "fuck no, AI can lick my asshole" and like

I said it with my entire soul. Out loud. But also like...I am very much a senior manager oops

My sinuses: we're gonna abruptly be hella congested for no apparent reason and there's nothing you can do about it

The three kinds of garlic-chili paste in my fridge: brb hold my beer

I am at what I thought was a generic fantasy "lets read together" event and it is definitely an ACOTAR fan romantasy thing and I am like a person who does not know a single character on the series and brought very Not Romantasy vibe books with her

I have miscalculated

If you ever have a truly shitty day, I highly recommend making risotto.

1. It's super adaptable for proteins, veg, flavour, etc.

2. It requires patience and slowing yourself down. Anxiety and anger struggle in that environment.

3. It ends with a big, cozy bowl of carbs.

Me, any time I listen to fado: where is the Portuguese lesbian musician of my dreams

As a queer millenial who read a lot of feminist literature on sexuality and gender diversity in their 20s while also spending their online hours on tumblr and ao3, I love the fact that my entire family has taken up cribbage in my adulthood. It's great. /s

WHY DO ALL THESE HOUSEHOLD APPLIANCES WANT TO BE CONNECTED TO THE F-ING INTERNET? Our last landlady installed light switches that don't work properly unless you use them in conjunction with an app. I don't want a fucking app for light switches. I just want to switch a light on & off, using a switch.
"What is that?"
"Oh, that's my extra phone."
"Why do you need an extra phone?"
"All the apps no longer fit on my original one. At least, not since I downloaded this app which tells me exactly how many spiders are living in my house and randomly awards one of them a 'Spider Of The Week' award."

My neighbour is a fox news conspiracy bigot but more deranged than all of that nonsense is the fact that he takes private personal phone calls in his backyard

On speaker phone.

I find it so hard to read AI written emails. Like, as soon as I clock that AI was used my brain instantly stops taking the message seriously. I don't want to waste time reading your AI slop, thanks.

Work acquaintance: It must be so frustrating working with a Gen Z all the time they're so annoying and unprofessional

Me, rolling up my sleeves and ready to throw down: what did you just say about my precious Gen Z intern

Decided to pull out an important part of the interview.

Generative AI is often justified with comparisons to the cost of Amazon Web Services ($57bn) or Uber's ($32bn) in losses, when its costs and losses are hundreds of billions of dollars worse.

And there's no post-bubble redemption story.

Coworker: AI could automate this and make analysis much faster

Me: Question for the team. How do you write 2pm in your spreadsheets?

CW 1: 2:00 p.m.

CW2: 2.00pm

CW3: 2p.m.

CW3: 2

CW4: 14:00

Me: uh-huh so good luck with that

don’t make me tap the “for thousands of years, antisemitism has functioned primarily by scapegoating: the king tells you he is only oppressing you because the Jews have forced his hand, so you kill the Jews rather than the king” sign
It's Trump's war. Calling this "Israel's war" is antisemitic, sure, but also lets the US off way too easily.

Me, overhearing my theatre students heatedly discussing Ariel: they must be discussing The Tempest, I'm glad their Shakespeare course had such an impact!

Me, 5 minutes later: or they could be assigning disney princesses to the different faculty

Was just reminded of the time when someone (I'm told) asked why I pretend to be a manic pixie dream girl and like

1. I'm literally just like this

2. You're displaying a drastic misunderstanding of that stock character type

3. Rude. I'm not one-dimensional. If anything I'm multidimensional.

In an editing course and they said AI could be helpful for a specific writing task and now I'm trying to figure out how to tell the prof that their course is ethically reprehensible and a betrayal of their industry

But, like, in a professional way

you can tell the AI revolution is going well because every CEO is begging you to use it in the same tone as the government asking good citizens to buy war bonds in the 40s
