Line-crossing ceremony onboard the ship København, 1925-28
This image captures a sailor participating in a traditional "Line-Crossing" ceremony, a nautical ritual held when a ship crosses the equator. The figure is dressed as "King Neptune," the mythological ruler of the sea who traditionally presides over these initiations. The costume features a distinct pointed hat emblazoned with a skull and crossbones, a common theme for such maritime celebrations.

Pam Grier in a publicity still for Coffy (1973)
Actress Pam Grier — in costume, dressed in a white crochet-knit bikini, hoop necklace, arm bracelet, bangle and sunglasses — captured almost facing the camera while reclining on a dark-coloured sun lounger, poolside, her hands behind her head, elbows bent, in a medium-length black-and-white shot for the film Coffy (1973)

May 30th 1995 - Ho Chi-mo falls in love.

📽️📅 Fallen Angels (1995)
1 Screenshot from the movie "Fallen Angels" (1995): First, a blurred, black-and-white image of a young woman and man sitting closely in a crowded, dimly lit bar; both rest their faces on their hands, looking tired or melancholic. The subtitle reads, "On May 30, 1995 I finally fell in love for the first time."

Sherlock Hound is a gem. Hayao Miyazaki built an idea from an Italian studio into a brilliant adventure series.

It was a turning point in his career, and his last TV show. Behind it were clashing visions, young talent and lots of money, as we explore:

Fingers are crossed that he is immortal.

I got the chance to ask Jodorowsky the meaning of life - he said "You will never find it. Life is life. Meaning is meaning. Don't look for meaning. Look for life."

Wise words from a wise man.

The Chilean film-maker’s psychedelic work earned him the title ‘king of the midnight movie’, and a fan in John Lennon. Now the 96-year-old is ready for the end – but first there is more living to do
