Caught the last few minutes of The Last Night of The Proms on television last night, and was greatly moved by the conductors address to the auditorium.

The music that then followed (Jerusalem), & with the auditorium as one voice, seemed to have so much more significance.

Authentic Integrity 👍

So why do I, or anyone else, try to make reasoned argument via Social Media? 🤔

(OK, I haven't the time or inclination to make a "vox pop" 😉)
Sadly the "vox pop" genre is too easily scripted, enacted & manipulated to carry the credibility required to actually change entrenched opinions.

The points made are, in my opinion, valid - and inconvenient for any "scrollers" who just label it as "fake news"

45 YEARS AGO TODAY.

The Woodhead Route was closed.

76006 & 76014 head the last electric service through Penistone shortly before 5 a.m. on the 18th of July 1981.

The service was the late running Harwich to Edge Hill SpeedLink train.

Schumann - Piano Quartet in E Flat, Op.47
Fauré - Piano Quartet No.1 in C minor, Op.15

.......if the programme wasn't enticing enough, maybe the whisky offer may lure you to Paxton too! 🤔

If they closed road infrastructure every time there was antisocial behaviour, it'd never be open.

Meanwhile, if you needed to sit to wait for your bus, you were effectively under curfew; if you could stand, you'd have no respite from sun or rain; & you wouldn't find out until you got there.

.....& therein lies the problem.

Too many politicians have tiny minds & couldn't see the potential for self harm & cannot read the current majority in the room

The richest man owns X.

The second and third richest men control Google.

The fourth richest man owns The Washington Post.

The seventh richest man owns Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.

And now the sixth richest could soon take over both Paramount and Warner Bros.

See the problem here?

They'll probably draw the line before replacement bus services
With Palantir embedded with Network Rail and now with SpaceX being positioned as the primary train WiFi provider, we must ask the question: how much control is the US tech industry going to get over our railways?

"Tristes apprêts, pâles flambeaux"

Never heard it before, but it stopped me in my tracks.

Stunningly & achingly beautiful.

Finally, it emerges, what the Brexit Benefit actually was.......

No wonder he was so keen, and still he draws an EU Pension? 🤔
So, Labour tears itself apart to try to stop Farage being our next PM just as he finally faces scrutiny in a monumental corruption scandal which could… and really should…end his political career.
I’d go hard on that rather than each other right now guys.
