Control Resonant was excellent. Early game feels a bit slow and I wondered how it would manage to live up to the first game, but given time it really starts to go some cool and wild places. Combat could use a tad more and first game wins out in vibe but still a great sequel.

Playing the new Fire Emblem and hot damn do they let you slut these men out if you put em in the caster gear 👀 Dietrich already turning heads in his full armor, he'd end lives walking around like this.

Finished the new Onimusha last night and that was a top tier action game. Fuckin' phenomenal. Incredible combat mechanics that all combine to make fights flow and feel oh so satisfying. Story and characters were also so much stronger than I expected. As an OG Onimusha fan I approve of this revival.

Recently finished replaying Shadow Hearts 2 and man, I really hope Penny Blood is able to get its publishing situation sorted cuz damn I need a spiritual follow up to those games. SH1 is still my fav but Koudelka and 2 are great.

Finished up Mina the Hollower. Real good, cool mix of game types. Cool weapons, some neat subweapons and ideas. Difficulty is a bit inconsistent, exploring areas is often the most dangerous part of the game; beat most bosses first try, including final. Good time overall though.

Finished RE9. Great time. First 1/2-2/3 is def the strongest and feels like an evolution for RE, building on what 7 laid out but with more of a classic RE skin. Last third is solid and has some cool moments, and feels like an epilogue and goodbye to old RE, but feels a little bloated at the start.

While it sucks that a studio that helped keep so many older games playable, like the OG MGS remasters, is gone, I am *so* tired of seeing people bitch about how Bluepoint should have remade Bloodborne. It does not need the shiny but less interesting coat of paint that DeS got.

Wrapped up Ghost of Yotei. Fantastic game, honestly vibed with it more than Tsushima. Fun and tense, gorgeous music and visuals, great classic revenge western sort of vibe. Just couldn't put it down.

Hit credits on Hades 2. Still plenty to do I'm sure but damn what a game. Supergiant has been one of my fav devs since even before Hades 1, but both of them have been early access at their best. Played through each at every stage and it made them feel like the epics they are.

Finished Silksong off fully last night, 94% completion. Damn, what a game. Kicked my ass more than a couple times, but damn if it ain't satisfying. Gorgeous art and music, snappy combat, lots of tools and ways to play and content. Loved it.

When Clive Barker was working on the MUMMY remake for Universal in the early '90s, he had a trans character in the script, and when the studio vetoed it, he basically said "I really can't stress how much I don't need to fucking make THE MUMMY" and left.

The fact that we're finally getting a Returnal spiritual successor is hype as hell. I absolutely adored that game. This one starring Rahul Kohli only makes me more excited.

This past Thursday I lost my great uncle, who was like a second dad to me, so I had to drive back down home and do funeral and stuff just before Christmas, but that's all out of the way now and I did some new writing while away so we push ever onward.

I've finally gone back and fully caught up on Kingdom Hearts after so many years. I *adored* the first as a kid and was real into the second but fell off hard after those, but it was a real treat to fully explore the whole series as an adult, and honestly more fun than I expected.
