Ohh yeah definitely, this is very much part of the ick and I'd be curious too. I think there's a lot to unpack about his blergh parasocial thing for a younger vanished woman, and how (I think) he's portrayed as someone who feels left behind and looks back to what I guess he sees as simpler times.

I don't know how much of that was intentional, and to be fair it's been a while since I watched it and I haven't read the books, but I enjoyed it a lot more once he took a backseat!

Definitely felt the same! He feels slimy. But I also kinda see him as this purposefully old-fashioned conservative-coded character who ends up way out of his depth as a way to say "this is a story about change, this type of character just doesn't work here", if that makes sense?

Fantastic! Yeah it's kinda weird, all these options have various overlapping roles for keeping paragraph lines together, so it can be hard to know which one is causing problems when a bunch are turned on. Glad that sorted it out!

Woohoo, progress! What's the number you have in "Keep with next: (x) lines" right below the widowed lines setting? If it's above zero and you set it to zero, does the rest of the extra space go away?

For unstyled paragraphs, those settings will be in the generic paragraph styles tab! I might be completely off-base though…

I feel like depending on how much weight is given to the words of the dead, how much of their beliefs and opinions they bring with them in the afterlife and how stubborn they are about sticking to them, there would be a lot more friction to cultural progress?
