Yeah I mean it's completely a personal preference thing, the raison d'etre of my post is that for me, reading dialogue *is* experiencing the story. It all definitely depends on how visual someone might be though.

in particular, i've recently finished "A Memory Called Empire" which i enjoyed a great deal, *especially* how the plot was dialogue-driven, the protagonist weaving through the bureaucracy of an intergalactic empire - a premise that *obviously* hints at lengthy conversations /
