I think I prefer it as something passive over time. Once a tree is cut down it then regenerates as a seed and progresses through the growth stages until fully grown.

Nice, yeah absolutely it can be made to affect gameplay. There’s other assets in the pack like fallen trees or cut wood that could be used as resources. I might work on included some other unique resources for the different types of trees to make it more interesting too.
