"no one who can't afford a book should be denied the chance to read books" and "it's important to discourage people who can afford books from pretending they can't afford them to take advantage of libraries" is not a dichotomy that anyone ever considers because that's ridiculous
Balancing "no person with a disability should be denied accommodations" with "it's important to discourage non-disabled people from pretending to be disabled to take advantage of these accommodations" is really difficult and I don't have a great answer for what anyone should do about it.

What gets me is that fanfic/fanart creators have been talking about the subject of getting dogpiled, harassed, and pressured *for so many years now* about making dark/unsettling content, and let nobody listened to the canary in the coal mine because “stupid fandom drama”
