So, um... this is bad. Really bad. I looked at the letters that were translated by the AI, and the very first one I found was almost entirely hallucination. Thread:
The new project mapping 7,000+ ancient letters is impressive: romanletters.org . The database & geolocation (although noting Pleiades rather than just AWMC would be nice) are great. But I absolutely cannot get over use of AI—however transparent—for translation.

Doesn't quite work when the regular police have such a reputation for brutality and shooting minorities that there was an entire social movement based around it.
It's infuriating and frankly disrespectful to call our modern-day Gestapo, aka ICE, "law enforcement officers." They're nothing of the sort. Real law enforcement protects (or should protect) people. ICE terrorizes them.

Why do we keep thinking that people who have no shame or heart will react in a human manner when asked to explain themselves? They don't care about people who died. They don't care about who is suffering. We can ask all the "hard-hitting" questions we want, but they do not care.

What they don't tell you about unmasking and learning about your diagnosis is that you will still sit in the midst of success and wait for the other shoe to drop rather than enjoy the accomplishments. Really wishing this anxiety wouldn't keep trying to cave in my chest 😕
