I think people just look at anything women and girls like as frivolous.
does the idea that romance readers aren't a discerning audience come from the fact they are majority straight women and looking at the quality of their straight male partners makes it seem like they'll accept anything?

sometimes I think the worst part of trying to date is "putting yourself out there" but I realize now that's the worst part of many things-dating, job seeking, making friends, putting art into a public arena, social media... can't someone invent a "being seen" that doesn't require "becoming visible"?

If we can’t enjoy a bottle of Cabernet together by the fireplace in an abandoned Victorian mansion under a full moon on a cold winter’s night with the sound of wolves in the distance whilst we wax poetic about our hopes, dreams, and people we want to haunt in the afterlife, then what’s the point?
