RW nutters always use GDP per capita to push their crap. Which as everyone knows is a useless bullshit statistic. For example if millionaires and billionaires make ever more and more money - but working people don't, GDP per capita goes UP (i.e. life got BETTER.)

The problem isn't religion, but *perversions* of religion. In the context of American politics, it's perversions of Christianity. The actual message of Jesus was far more progressive and "woke" than any Christian nationalist will admit.

Ditto Canada. Before Covid two PM's had accumulated 3/4 of all Canada's debt; Conservatives Mulroney and Harper, who did it with tax breaks to rich people. Trudeau added debt but mostly it was Covid connected; before Covid the PBO forecasted Canada was on track to eliminating its debt by late 2040s.
