One thing about me is I will always defend Sonic Adventure 2. I cleared out some of my videogame collection this week and got to that box with it's sick box art and just couldn't part with it. The last act is genuinely operatic to me. - IJ

Typical of Cocteau’s visual art, the piece adapts profound mythological and religious themes through his signature minimalist, fluid line work. Cocteau routinely mixed classical mythology (like his obsession with Orpheus) with Catholic and apocalyptic theology. The title directly references the Book of Revelation, which he handles not with the heavy, dark terror of traditional Renaissance masters like Albrecht Dürer, but with a clean, poetic, and surrealist approach. Cocteau believed that drawing was simply "graphic poetry," and this piece showcases his rare gift for translating cosmic, dramatic events into smooth, haunting line work.

I've been thinking lately about the relationship between forgiveness and sacrifice. The things we have to give up to find peace after we've been adversed against. I try to write a lot about forgiveness, and obviously being a diy musician I make compromises. My work reflects life in this way. - IJ
