Yeah, it’s a perfect combination between userbase, algorithm, etc to just make this place insufferable enough to not be here often but fine enough to come back every once in a while

That just comes down to userbase, I’ve noticed this place is absolutely full of millennial know it alls who think they’re morally superior because they got away from Twitter after Elon bought it, all of that wrapping around to this place being unfunny, unknowing, and unkept

Sadly that’s just kinda how online discourse is now and I absolutely hate it, it’s always their way or you’re just completely wrong, just the wrong way to think about it and to approach it

Not a big boast considering how bad SV’s launch really was but yeah, a lot of how Champions will play out at this point beyond its launch will come down to the choices about the regulations and how they treat the balance updates and such.

So from what some others and I are guessing, all the updates will come inbetween VGC regulations, which means the next update would be on like, June 17th? I think? It’s somewhere close to that.

Honestly just custom rules for private battles fixes a ton of the issues already, tho the real issue they’ll focus on first is either the frame issues I’ve heard some people are having or the lack of available items

Is the format to begin with, specifically for doubles/VGC. The 186 Pokemon chosen so far are interesting to use and many of them have viable cases to be useful. My favorite so far is definitely Mega Froslass, with Snow Warning, Blizzard, and coverage in TBolt and STAB Shadow Ball, the mon COOKS.

In terms of it working it’s just like, an official Pokemon Showdown on switch consoles? But only for limited Pokemon atm and such, UI is pretty good imo but the new megas abilities…oh boy they’re underwhelming and make no sense for some of the Pokemon they’re on. I will say smth the game does right-

Most items aren’t in the game, moves are randomly cut from movesets, only 186 Pokemon for what’s supposed to be the ultimate VGC experience. I only say VGC because singles is limited to 3V3 Battle Factory rules and is overall just, not good. It’s obvious it was rushed out.

I think the big thing for this one is that it finally broke the 3 year development pattern for a much better 5 year development time, they go for strong reveals by doing CGI and such, but that reveal trailer never had a moment of full CGI
