Scratching my head over influencers calling OOT Link “AI” and Epona “yassified”. It seems stemming from a lack of art critique vocabulary or limited frame of reference outside of pop culture.
Apart from OOT being a pun on ceramic ocarina, Aonuma said that the visual is to evoke nostalgia (懐かしさ).

much more broadly than games we're clearly seeing a trend rn where a lot of people just do not want to think in any context at all. if you can contribute to reversing that in any way at all it may be one of the most important things you can do
