A useful test before buying help desk software for an MSP: in the demo tenant, open tickets for two different clients and see if a tech can view one without a manual filter hiding the other. If it takes a custom view to keep client data apart, multi-tenancy is bolted on, not built in.

A small build note: KB articles surface directly in a ticket's suggested-articles panel while a tech is working it, instead of living in a separate wiki tab someone has to remember to check.

Most "SMS support" on help desk software is a text notification, not a two-way ticket channel. What real SMS ticketing needs, what it costs to bolt on:

A useful test before buying "browser softphone" as a feature: ask the vendor to demo it on a locked-down laptop with no admin rights, not their own machine. If it needs an install or an admin prompt, it's a desktop app wearing a browser softphone's name.

A small build note: there's a live demo tenant on the ITSM site, so you can look around the actual ticketing UI before creating an account - not a set of screenshots standing in for the product.

Does your help desk's phone support run in the browser, or does it need desk hardware or an app install first? What a real browser softphone requires:

Before believing an "omni-channel" claim, test one channel: text the support number and see if it shows up as a ticket, or if a human has to notice it and copy it in by hand. That's the difference between a feature and a promise.

Automatic call answering: outsource to a receptionist service, or use ticketing software that answers itself. The real difference:

A small build note: assets in ITSM's CMDB link straight to the tickets that touch them, so opening a laptop's record shows its open incidents instead of a separate system you cross-reference by hand.

A useful habit before comparing help desk pricing pages: convert every plan to a total monthly cost for your actual team size, not the per-agent number on the homepage. A 3-tech team on two "$19/agent" plans can land on very different real totals once seats and add-ons are counted.

This stop motion nightmare shows a monster sofa devouring its victim, one frame at a time. Pure practical horror.

If you use Claude, you can connect it to a ticketing workspace and let manage your ticket queue. This page is about the document that makes it good at that. It’s free to download and takes about ten minutes to set up.

We priced real inbound calling, not just tickets, across five help desks for a 3-tech team, checked live against each vendor's own pricing page:

A small build note: SLA tracking in ITSM follows ticket type, not one generic clock - incidents, requests, problems, and changes each get their own SLA instead of a single "ticket age" timer treating all of them the same.
August 3, 2026 at 2:00 PM
A small build note: ITSM's knowledge base lives in the same product as the tickets, not a separate portal with its own login and its own search box to keep in sync.

Before you build workflows around a vendor's "free" plan, check the pricing page for a time limit, not just a price. A 6-month trial and a permanent free tier both show up as "$0" on the homepage.

Zendesk's $19/agent/mo tier looks cheap - until you see it skips the KB, AI agent, phone, and chat. What a small shop pays to get those back:

If two-way SMS is part of your evaluation, don't just ask whether it exists - text the number yourself and confirm it lands as a ticket or ticket update, not a dead end. Bolted-on SMS integrations are the ones most likely to silently drop that message.
July 24, 2026 at 2:02 PM
ITSM's ticketing isn't one generic inbox: incidents, requests, problems, and changes are handled as distinct types, backed by a knowledge base and a CMDB, so you can track client assets and actually report against SLAs instead of eyeballing a ticket list.

MSPs need an AI phone agent that knows which client is calling, not a bolt-on generic receptionist. Compared per-minute tools vs PSA add-ons.

Shopping for an AI phone agent? Don't take the demo slide's word for it - ask the vendor to show it pull up a real, open ticket and state its status live. If the honest answer is "it takes a message," that's IVR with extra steps, not an agent working from live data.
July 15, 2026 at 2:00 PM
Most help desks treat phone support as an afterthought. ITSM's AI phone agent answers calls using live ticket data, not a script, and techs can pick up the line from a browser softphone.
