I love seeing #butterflies in my garden, attracted by the profusion of wildflowers where I live in #connemara #Galway.
In 2023 I had lots of colourful Peacock butterflies, with big red wings. that when opened, sport a realistic cat’s face and eyes subterfuge to startle birds and other predators.

These two lads were having way too much fun at Blackrock diving tower #Salthill a couple of evenings back, braving the sniping cold Atlantic wind to bask in the 'warm' waters of Galway bay. Oh to be young, fearless and cracked again!
Well I suppose two out of three ain't bad!

The iconic yellow diving tower at the end of Salthill's famous 'Prom' or Promenade, was built c.1951 by local firm Stewart Construction, replacing a rather rickety c.1905 platform that was no longer 'sea-worthy'!
