That type of rivalry wasn't rooted in hatred.

People didn't care long ago if you sucked during Molten Core.

But now that you've got a timer hanging over your head for the almighty FOMO, it's an issue.

FOMO is in everything for WoW, PvP and PvE. Hate.

There's already fanmade addons to *add* controller support and there's been plenty of fan ports to the Steam Deck.

People have cleared high level content with them as well, so it does work exceptionally well.

I have not kept up to date after Blizzard's Addon purge.

For FOMO here's my favorite example:

IRC there are more FOMO'd/Removed Weapon Illusions then there are obtainable currently in the base game. And most of the source is PvP.

You can imagine how toxic that crowd gets when you ask if we can bring them back.

PvE has it's own beasts, but I'm rambling.

If you ask me it's a sense of validation thing.

Our thing is clearly much better than their thing, therefore ours is better since there's a subpar example.

Personally, I play everything.

The REAL spice is FOMO. People will eat you alive if you dare mention trying to bring them back.

WoW player here, shitloads of hours (if you don't mind me saying) that could blow you out of the water.

The tribalism is very much real. PvP players hate the PvE.

Housing players are their own bubble.

Raiding players hate the M+ (Dungeon) players.

Classic players hate Modern.

Addons vs purist.
