I've got seven months to save up for a 2TB SSD so I can transfer everything on the 1TB I already have plus half of my internal PS5 storage just so it can fit.
Christ, why did internal console storage not keep up with ballooning game sizes....

Great writing Scott!

Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy completed.
Probably my "favorite" Plague Tale despite its more combat focus. It *IS* a Plague Tale though, so narratively it's full of death & pretty messed-up twists, though this particular story does have a ton of, "wait, why is this/are these this way?"

Now for the positive: Final Fantasy VII: Revelation
From everything released this morning, it looks so ambitious and I'm going to lose so much of my time and life to it.
In 2024, I took an entire week off work for Rebirth and was able to put 95 hours, but couldn't finish in time.

Such a stacked news morning, I couldn't help but comment on the reviews and previews of the day.
Starting with the not so positive first: Wolverine.
Setup - Ever since I was six and got a PS1 for Christmas bundled with Spyro: The Dragon, I've been a lifelong fan of Insomniac.

Finished up a gaming session, doing some last minute research and was about to shut down, log off, and start getting ready for bed, and I just see the news Sony wanted to cancel Kojima's Physint in mid-June, as Xbox will now take over the partnership.
Simply put: This is fucking nuts.

I'm going to be so busy for the first third of the year...
Dated - Metro: 2039, God of War: Laufey, Exodus, FF VII: Revelation
General - Spyro: ARB, Kingdom Hearts IV, Clockwork Revolution, No Law, Senua, Resident Evil: Veronica
Maybe - Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, Kena: Scars of Kosmora, Zoopunk, Blade, Tides of Annihilation, Threads of TIme

That said, the remake looks fantastic. Eager to watch a playthrough.

Star Wars: Zero Company finished.
I really enjoyed the gameplay loops both in missions and in your hub, "the Den," plus the story is fine overall with a couple highlight moments. Main-side characters really make it a fun time, though I have two major gripes:

Today's IGN preview of Exodus has *finally* sold me on Exodus as I've been wary on it for the last while, but (and I'm sure many noticed this yesterday), the fact FF VII Revelation has been dated one day after Exodus's release is such a bummer for them.

I've now hit the point in the generation where I'm having to make hard decisions on internal storage space for new games; Switch will be easily rectified, but PS5?... Well, I've already got an additional 1TB SSD alongside the console storage but I'm quickly going to be out of space.

April 8th... Good to know; I now know the week I'm taking off work now.
Otherwise, Metro 2039's brief segment was neat, and the Final Fantasy Resonance portion was fun (DEMO NOW!!), but the State of Play as a whole: Meh.

Duskfade completed.
This game is *delightful.* A hallmark of PS2-era action platformers (with evident Kingdom Hearts homages), it just *feels* great to play, bolstered by absolutely incredible art and a captivating world. The story, while solid, is simple and predictable almost instantly.

Hype.

After a couple Horde Siege matches, while I like the idea of expanding what Horde can be (especially with it taking less time), I *still* dislike its foundations.
Gears is, by its very nature, a co-op first experience, so it's obviously going to be always better better with a friend or three.
Extremely rough, first-blush, top-level thoughts of Gears E-Day beta as I played just one Versus match:
* I don't understand the desire to switch foundational controls for a Gears game (Clicking stick sprints, not holding A / Active Reload in the center BUT can be moved back to top right).
