If you want to reduce energy bills the best way is de-linking the price of electricity from the price of Gas.

This extra money on 100% of electricity is paid to just the 30% of people supplying Gas, all Solar, Wind and Hydro are all on fixed contracts and get nothing.

Thames Water ‘close to deal that would spare it Ofwat fines until 2030’.

Anything given to TW can't be denied to others.

No pressure points to end sewage dumping, cash extraction, customer fleecing.

A licence to pollute, abuse and exploit.

One law for us, another for corporations and capital.

Imagine the US invades Greenland, what will happen?
Imagine they invade Iceland, what will happen?
Imagine they invade Norway one of the biggest fossil fuel producers in Europe, what will happen?

Nothing apparently.

The threat isn't imaginary, it is very real.

What - and I don’t say these things lightly - a ridiculous and offensive fucking cunt
A solar farm that could have powered “all the households in Witney” has been refused permission by West Oxfordshire District Council. Councillors were concerned about the risk of fire, one drawing parallels to the 1966 Aberfan disaster: “Until someone can guarantee it is safe, I can’t support it.”

It’s amazing this needs to be said, but so many intelligent people don’t grasp it. Likewise, people who are both positively and negatively disposed towards LLMs seem convinced that LLMs have ‘emergent properties’, and that blinds them to seeing the technology’s limitations
Chatbots — LLMs — do not know facts and are not designed to be able to accurately answer factual questions. They are designed to find and mimic patterns of words, probabilistically. When they’re “right” it’s because correct things are often written down, so those patterns are frequent. That’s all.

It is fascinating the way you can take money from hungry children or disabled people without consequence, but try to limit the amount that goes to rich pensioners and everything implodes.

Overall, a really solid 8-episode season! In terms of performances, Rosamund Pike, Josha Stradowski, and Marcus Rutherford are definitely stand-outs. I really hope they get a S4, because the show is clearly getting better each season! (3/3)

Trump’s plans have zero to do with waste, fraud or abuse. The plan is and always has been to massively expand his presidential powers by replacing tens of thousands of federal workers with loyalists who obey without question.

This is not legitimate reform. This was 2020 executive order Schedule F.

I love Matt Damon because he is a famous movie star who writes, produces, and acts and who will also show up for five minutes in random movies for a joke or to be a villain in like three scenes. Dude just likes movies and I dig it.

Apropos the United Healthcare assassination:

Money—indirectly controlled via a corporate instrument—is as much a symbol of impunity and power today as a title of nobility was in the Ancien Regime. It buys privilege, in the original sense of the term—"private law".

That's why we all hate CEOs.
