That, and everything he has ever sold has been a scam, and everything he’s ever bought he’s tried to get out of paying for. He cannot imagine an exchange of goods/services for money that doesn’t involve one side of the transaction trying to scam someone

Yes, same. Near miss with a car? Once, maybe twice in the time I’ve been in London. Cyclists…I can’t even count. And everyone has just internalised this: if I slow down on a bike at a zebra crossing, pedestrians won’t step out until I have come to a halt because they *know* no cyclist will stop.
