The Strider Mode module expands on the travel rules without being over complex. Worth checking out if you don’t have it.

I was lucky enough to see one fly over the house at the weekend. It was doing the shallow wing flick trick. Last time I saw one was over 40 years ago.

In combat against multiple foes use stances and cultural virtues to get an edge. Burn some Hope early on to put foes down quickly when outnumbered or against powerful foes. Use Hope on Protection rolls to avoid wounds. Don’t be afraid to retreat and try again another day.

Once you start progressing pick your Cultural Virtues carefully - Foresight is great for Rangers, giving you some valuable rerolls.

I’ve found that looking at the various Landmarks helps with inspiration. What angle would this Landmark present to your Patron for a mission?
Also add a helpful NPC here and there on the early adventures as backup until you get the hang of solo play.

Combat. The system has many layers you need to be aware of such as Might, Hate/Hope, fell abilities, weapon qualities, wounds, stances etc. Once you get it it becomes very tactical and many adversaries are very individual if played correctly.

Possibly Hydroporus tessellatus

I’m used to systems like Mythras and RuneQuest, so initially the apparent simplicity of the combat system didn’t look like I’d like it - I’m happy to say I was wrong. The use of stances, variations in the weapons and Hope all make for quite a tactical combat.
