Been invited to the hen do of an old school friend. Great! Except she isn't taking into account that several of us have kids, work Saturdays or simply don't have the same disposable budget or love of city breaks (and its in London so why 2 nights hotel when everyone lives in South East??). Sigh.

Highlight of today was lunchtime #UnconfinedWalks to post the eldest's sewing box to her. Apparently 8 threads cost 20 Euros... whole box of bits posted for £15.

Cats2 and 3 have discovered how to climb onto the shed. Cat2 had sense to sit up there a while and then come back. Cat3 has wandered off exploring using the fence... luckily he came running back after 20 mins. But crikey i'm not ready for this stress level!

Well eldest has found a wool shop in Cannes, got used to driving on the wrong side of the road and is now sending me photos like these. Meanwhile I am doing data entry at home after struggling to get her sister in to school (cat3 weed on her skirt which didnt help!) And chain drinking tea

I've just cancelled my daughter's pocket money standing order as she is an adult and left school. Its only a token amount, purely for her to spend on whatever rubbish she wanted, but.... sob...

Had my first readers in today who had only done research via chatgpt for their house history previously. Absolutely no idea if it had told them the truth or if they even understood the records I'd got out (luckily mid 19thc to 1954 but did include legal stuff). Sign of things to come?

Ah the fun of well meaning relatives having no clue just how competitive the world is for 18yo now (or that actually you need higher a level grades for jobs and apprenticeships than to get into university now)....yes CCD was fine 20 years ago but not now!

Nice #UnconfinedWalks to the pub. Childhood character postbox toppers including a hidden Wheres Wally. Should have taken photo of my drink but too busy drinking and chatting. Suspect will regret this as have work tomorrow....

There is a joke in girlguiding that Rangers are just big Rainbows. Last time she had a unit bear she was in Rainbows but Olive is all ready to go in hand luggage to Kenya tomorrow!

#ConfinedCocktail whilst sitting in the garden for the first time in days - so nice being sub 30 degrees! Risking a gin and tonic (Welsh Wind i think) for the 1st time in a year. Was very ill last time I drank gin and not sure if I have developed an intolerance or just drank too much. Cheers!
