Also annoyed that I have to point all this out.

Three thousand year old horses - those Egyptians knew how to take care of their livestock.

I‘ve barely been able to keep mine alive for three hundred.
A 3,000-year-old horse burial has been uncovered at Tell el-Abqain, a New Kingdom fortress in Egypt’s Nile Delta. Archaeologists also found a stela bearing the names of Ramesses II (c. 1279–1213 BCE), along with chariot-harness pieces, scarabs, amulets and evidence of military life. 🏺🐎 🌊

Really wanting the GOP to be associated with the Goatfuckers demo.

Say “Not all of the GOP are goatfuckers, but all goatfuckers support the GOP”
ok now we gotta know the specifics, sorry, this has gone from being "well that's weird" to "this is about one particular person who fucked a goat"

Just something about seeing HIGH DIESEL CRACK over and over in my doomscrolling…
ALL-TIME HIGH DIESEL CRACK

The US diesel crack spread (i.e., refining margin) is now sitting above $111/bbl (vs Brent), the highest level on record.

The industrial workhorse fuel is currently trading at roughly $220/bbl, more than double the price of prompt crude futures.

Furthermore, pointing out these possibilities - indeed, accusing the potential perpetrators whenever it looks the slightest bit like its happening - may help prevent them.
im not saying i think it's the most likely outcome or even in the top 10 most likely outcomes; but i am saying it needs to be on the menu of possible outcomes, because we've done this before and back then people thought it was insane too but that didn't stop it from happening

It's one thing to risk your life doing what you signed up to do, even for incompetent leaders, & another thing entirely to voluntarily risk your life & reputation to commit treason for incompetents to illegally stay in power so they can incompetently risk your life some more.

see, this is why I say "cancel culture" isn't real. it was framed as a new, dangerous phenomenon when people with power have been making moves like this forever.
New: Macklemore says Robert Kraft — who owns Gillette Stadium, where Macklemore & Ed Sheeran were to perform later this month — called Sheeran.

Kraft rallied other owners together behind an ultimatum for Sheeran: if Macklemore stays on the tour, you won't be allowed in our venues.

As a wise man once said, concerning threats and intimidation: you have to have a reputation for toughness.

Taking years to fail to win a war against a much smaller opponent seriously undermines that reputation.

All political candidates should be making a clear statement on this. It's not a trivial point. Trump's Albert Speer projects are the hallmarks of dictatorship.

Back when I considered myself a conservative, the appeal was the idea that you shouldn't make changes, that what already worked was adequate, because changes sometimes get out of hand, and can result in things like Saudi Arabia losing its capacity to refine and export fucking OIL.

For example.

Yeah that’s a fine strategy - that will totally work.

Every obscene Trump defacement of public property has got to be undone.

- restore the East Room
- restore the Rose Garden
- get rid of the tacky gold crap
- restore the South lawn
- restore the Kennedy Center
- restore the reflecting pool
- plant new cherry blossom trees
- NO arch

etc. ad nauseam.

Going forward, it can’t just be about rolling things back to the way it used to be.

It needs to be about ”these shitty policies have shitty rationales determined by shitty people thinking in shitty ways, and that’s why they have shitty outcomes, if you support them, stop.“
This will be bad for:
- the students
- the research progress
- the universities
- the towns the universities are in
- the companies hiring students
- the states the universities are in
- the national economy
- national security
- the country
- the world
The US President's new proposal to tax international students has been approved by the White House for release this week.

It's an unprecedented $100,000 tax on int'l grads who stay to work after graduation on Optional Practical Training (most grads do), a crucial bridge to remaining by any channel.

More Good v. Evil framing please - should actually be pretty easy bc to do.
Ken Paxton is a blatant crook who was turned into the FBI by his own staff and impeached by his own Party.

The James Talarico / Ken Paxton Texas Senate race is really a referendum on good vs. evil. More than that, it's a referendum on the decency of the people of Texas.

But where possible it’s worth pointing out that “shitty GOP economic policies based on some people being more important than others” and “shitty GOP cultural beliefs based on some people being more important than others” are intrinsically the same shitty GOP policy that is bad for everyone.
I feel like reminding every politician that the fact that we are going to pay $7 a gallon for gas in a month when we have lost over 200,000 jobs under Donald Trump THIS YEAR ALONE is far more fucking important than who uses what fucking bathroom

Watters: Do you think men should play women's sports?

El-Sayed: I'm running for U.S. Senate. It's insane. I'm out here trying to take on the health care crisis and big pharma, and you're asking me about who gets to play what sports. It's silly. People can't take you seriously.

Absolutely here for a What If.... episode - nay, arc - that is all "What If Tom Cruise had been cast as Iron Man?"
"What If The Watcher is actually JMS?"
"What If there was a secret clause that Johnny Storm always had to be recast in a different role later?"
"What if K.E.V.I.N. is really in charge?"
I still say that if they gave me a billion-dollar Secret Wars movie, one of the multiverses would have every actor who was almost cast for a Marvel role:

Tom Cruise is Iron Man!
John Krasinski is Captain America!
Emily Blunt is Black Widow!

That should have been a What If episode 😆
