It’s funny, I’m not really close with my parents these days (literally and metaphorically), but as soon as I see/speak to them, everything comes out. So I had to avoid speaking to them for a while because I was embarrassed and hoped it would be over quickly enough to keep it from them.

In 1999 my year in catered halls cost about 110% of my student loan. From next month my nibling’s year in *un*catered halls will cost 250% of their student loan. They’ll have to do a two-hour each-way commute from home to complete the second and third years of their degree.
