Thank you! The previous owner had put slate all around the tree in the little concrete hole that it’s in. I removed all the slate in June.

I now have about 5 different flowers that have appeared underneath it (and a few weeds) 🙂

Devils advocate: It’s possible to flip that rhetoric and charicature now as:

- endless retrieval
- centralised (crap) lesson planning
- high non-attendance
- turnover at fastest rates

Whereas in 00s teachers had autonomy to meet every child’s needs via a range of methods based on judgement.

‘Conferencing’ is something new too which involves talking to the pupils about their work. What a fantastic new idea!

Maybe, instead of bull-headedly framing it as a children’s issue, governments should hold tech & social media companies for the content they host, and make social media less toxic for *all of us*.

Yeah I think Essex will go again next year as they are merging different councils. Fingers crossed some inspiring politicians appear before then!
