The bright, straight line; the mathematical curve.
A digital portrait of a stern-looking woman, with light brown skin, dark lips, and short, greying hair that falls in waves to her chin. She wears a dark uniform with a high collar and gold piping and buttons, and an orange half-cape lined with grey. In the background, a circle haloes her face; it contains patterns of lines and circles over an abstract background in shades of orange.

These two are a matched set~
Digital art of a young man looking warily to the right. He wears his dark hair in an undercut and has tattoos in an invented language on his forehead and the back of his neck; he wears a high-collared black coat with yellow piping on the collar. The background is a stylized circle filled with more words in an invented language, the letters appearing in various sizes--some very small, some too large and blurry to read. Digital art of a young man looking directly at the viewer with an avid, slightly mocking expression. He has long, dark hair that is pulled back at the sides with braids, and the loose hair drapes in soft waves over his right shoulder. He wears black and red, and his coat's collar is quilted in long parallel lines. The background is a stylized circle filled with abstract splashes of red and black, evoking splattered blood.

... I have been blessed ...
Screenshot of a tweet reading "So: Pillion is A24 Does a Gay Hallmark Movie--discuss." It was liked by famed mascot character and gender outlaw Chiitan. (And also esteemed author Micah Nemerever.)

Quote your portraits

Portraits are what I do!
A dark-skinned elf wearing dark, spiked armor. His hair is dressed in dozens of thin locs, ornamented with golden beads. His expression is severe. On his left side, his skin is overgrown with glowing fungus and mycelial threads, and his eye is milky and unseeing. Behind him is a blighted, craggy land lit with sickly green light. A man with warm brown skin and a gentle expression; his dark, curly hair is tied back and crowned with flowers. He wears a white robe with a purple collar stitched with white embroidery, and there is a heavy gold earring in his ear. A pregnant woman with warm brown skin and dark, curly hair; she is wearing a saffron-orange sleeveless gown and heavy gold bangles. Her lipstick is vivid red. She has her hand on her hip, and is looking over her shoulder with an expression of suspicion or contempt. A picture of a Black woman with extremely thick, stiff locs that frame her face in a sunburst. She is crowned with pearls set on a chain like droplets of snow, and wears a matching necklace. Her draped silver gown exposes her shoulders and collarbones.

Every old wound blooms with luminous fungus--mycelium winds through Sulein's body like a second nervous system, devouring and sustaining him.
An illustration of a Black, trans elf man with thin dreadlocks. He is naked, and stands looking to his right before a landscape of jagged black stone wreathed in vapor. His left side is abloom with glowing fungus, as are the top surgery scars under his pectoral muscles.

Me mustering my last shreds of willpower to revise this novel:
Text from Anne Carson’s translation of The Bakkhai by Euripides, which reads: [enter Dionysos] Dionysos: Okay ladies, up we get, no more crouching, no more sobbing.

Sometimes, I wish my art progression were faster. Here's art from eighteen years ago, ten years ago, and today.
Art from eighteen years ago: a wizard named Darius with a brown robe, a knobbly staff, a grey beard, and long grey hair. Art from ten years ago. To the left is an elf with antlers, shown in profile, with his long dark hair braided back. Standing before him is an orc wearing an elaborately embroidered jacket with patterns like sheaves of wheat. The orc has green skin, and his beard is bound up beneath his chin with a cord. He wears his hair shaved except for a topknot that hangs low off the back of his head. The background is a moody purple and awash with lightning. Art from today. An illustration of an orc wearing a studded brigandine. He wears his hair shorn on the sides, with a long, loose topknot. His expression is severe. Behind him is a blighted, craggy land lit with sickly green light.

Several Tolkien elves~
An illustration of Fingon from the Silmarillion as High King. He is a Black elf with his braided hair elaborately decorated with gold ornaments, and he's wearing a crown like branching flames set with pearls. He looks thoughtful and concerned. An illustration of Galadriel from the Lord of the Rings. She is a dark-skinned elf with blonde hair in elaborate, ornamented braids, with a dramatic emerald earring; however, the shoulders of her white gown are very simple, as is her ring Nenya, which gleams in the moonlight like a star through her fingers. An illustration of Maedhros and Fingon from the Silmarillion. Maedhros is a red-haired elf wearing a red tunic with gold embroidery and glowing orange jewels; he is missing his right hand. Fingon is a Black elf with gold thread braided into his hair; he wears a white tunic with gold ornamentation on the sleeves, and a deep blue shawl. They are embracing with their foreheads pressed together. An illustration of Fingolfin from the Silmarillion, during the Battle of Sudden Flame. He is a dark-skinned elf wearing studded armor with plates in the style of a Coat of a Thousand Nails. Behind him, a forest burns; its red light illuminates him as he gazes into the distance.
