Define "asked." Because 'they were askin' for it' means something specific to me.
their line was that people **asked** to be put in these cages, that it was what they wanted:
"facility staff said... detainees asked to spend time in the enclosures."

My wife was a poll worker. Then became chief Judge for her pooling place. She spoke about it as a sort of calling, a way you participate in the democratic process. To help those who are confused by laste ballot changes, and to celebrate with people contributing in our communities.

I have learned a lot listening to the Vibe Check podcast, but today I learned that I owe the extraordinary Kiese Laymon an apology. I have recommended his memoir Heavy to many people, but I've been saying his name wrong. This might be why I like audio books.

I'm late night listening to podcasts and crocheting (it calms me) while wildly aware that we are upon July 3rd and 4th where @chaniapp.bsky.social astrology said we're going to see some things. I am on edge and hope there's a readout after this weekend.
