Behind the social networks is a group of genuine activists who need support in this difficult moment. Many outsiders cannot follow discussions on Facebook; they are intense right now, but it is obvious there will be a vision and a plan!

Without a proper understanding of the process that led Georgia to this moment, it is impossible to change anything. We need to start asking painful questions openly.

Academia becomes more active and short-term planning is accepted as the way to go. The government will violate the constitution as it rushes to legitimize parliament despite the constitutional dispute in court. Long-term planning is necessary:

The government-run judiciary is repressing activists in cooperation with the so-called Special Investigative Service. Activists are targeted with fake charges. Meanwhile, university professors organized themselves to support students and the protest movement.

Last night students occupied the Tbilisi State University building and are demanding the rector's resignation. The night before, the university administration allowed police forces to use its facilities and prepare a crackdown on protesters.

The crackdown It was expected. Will activist groups manage to move the protest to a new location, and use new tactics? The resistance movement is facing a new reality: an illegitimate and violent government and if it does not become more dynamic the government will have upper hand.

The mood is positive and the protest is gaining supporters.

As opposition political parties adopt a culture of strategic campaigning, the need for a better-organized grass-roots movement is becoming more acute. There is great interest so we should use this chance to spread knowledge on strategic non-violent campaigning.

Protesters decided to occupy space in front of Tbilisi State University, a traditional spot for protest since the times of the Soviet Union. Good decision! Efficient in terms of managing the protest as well as symbolic.

As Georgia is going through the turmoil of fraud elections the question remains whether local civil society groups manage to organize a grass-roots movement to confront Ivanishvili's cartel or fail to do so. As for now, the protest movement is still spontaneous and risks losing wider public support.
