Had a horrible shower thought of a dystopian service in which bookstores are replaced with shelves containing cards that only have chatbot prompts instead of books. There's lots of shoplifting, but the one clerk doesn't care because the job is just their debtors' prison sentence.

Not sure if I'm the only one doing this, but I've been keeping a mental tally of which one I think is closest to happening: Civil War II, Great Depression II, or World War III.

I'm noticing that the ads for scam products (super vitamins, super affordable miracle computer equipment, magic glasses, etc.) are being made of ai slop more often. Now I, as a consumer, am starting to equate slop with scam. So I guess it is good for one thing.

I was going to the store to buy school supplies for the kids, and I needed apples and disinfectant as well, so I added a couple more items to the side of my list. Looking over it later, I got the inspiration for a great new snack product:

Just saw an ad on YT for Tetra goldfish flakes, and I honestly think the only reason Tetra would bother advertising at all is to get people to think: "Is there even another brand of goldfish flakes?" Probably the most effective ad I've seen in decades.

I've been on Bluesky for a while now, and haven't come up with a proper "first post." But screw it: I just watched the video to "Never Gonna give You Up" again for the first time in years, and I gotta say that the bartender is my favorite character from it.
