When I was in middle school I painted a mural in the art classroom, based on an original drawing of a dragon.
When I was in high school I went to the district's annual public student art show and the middle schoolers had all put up copies of my dragon. Dozens of copies of my dragon. Uncredited.

thinking about the popularity of so many "redraw trends" and plagiarism of compositions by all sorts of artists (it comes up often for gposing but 2D artists do it too). i have to sum up my discomfort with it as follows: it's artists treating other artists the same way A/I treats art as data
