Am I the only one that wants to zoom in on map apps and have the text get bigger, too? It doesn't do me any good to zoom in to the maximum and still have all the type labels in 6 or 8 point. #oldmaneyes #geography #cartography

Periodically, #hyperfocus takes over, and genealogical research makes leaps! I'm particularly interested in several lines of my family which ultimately come from #Scotland and #Ireland, but made generational stops in #Canada. I've emailed a new genealogist in #Ontario who my be able to help.

While Blue is peacefully asleep, and beginning to softly glow like heated metal, Green looks concerned. Green, in thought: Oh no, he fell asleep! I'm trapped, and the heat is on! As Blue's glowing heat only increases, Green struggles to wiggle free from beneath him, with no success. While Green begins to wither into a vaguely fox-shaped dry stick, Blue - who is still glowing with heat - stirs slightly in his sleep. Green, still in thought: I'm dehydated, my throat is parched, and I'm being slowly cooked alive in a broth of my own sweat. Waking up, Blue opens one eye, peering at Green. Blue: ...Are you okay? Green, groaning hoarsely: Release me.

An anecdote from a couple who have been together for nearly 30 years (as of 2026).
A post from Facebook on April, 29, 2018, which states: "Last night in married life: Joe: I kind of want boozy hot chocolate, but I feel bad because you already had hot chocolate. Geoff: That wasn't 'hot chocolate,' that was 'birthday chocolate. (chocolate that I got for my birthday-it's a different container than the regular hot chocolate.) Joe: But you heated up (coconut) milk and poured it over chocolate powder.. Geoff: There isn't a maximum amount of chocolate one can have in a day. Joe: <trying not to laugh> Geoff: <giggling> Look, I could do this with a straight face if you'd stop laughing. Joe: <laughing with tears> Geoff: <laughing with tears> 10 minutes later, boozy hot chocolate arrives.

My #uiux experience using #Apple #Maps while traveling in Japan. And when I flip back to the app while doing research, the app state refreshes to my current location taking me away from the place I was researching/looking at.

I mean, we got rid of our land line long ago and they don't even serve this area anymore, but anyone from back in the day will remember the snap-krackle-pop that would appear on the phone line after rain or storms. #landline (p.s. yes I know I misspelled apparently.)

A pox on app developers that reset the current state to default when you switch away for a moment to look something up... perhaps information you needed when filling out a form, for example.
