Ed Miliband’s statement on Israel is only a first step.

We need to go further: a full ban on goods, services & investment.

Labour is still shamefully refusing to recognise the Gaza genocide.

We must have a full arms embargo, full sanctions & an end to military collaboration.

This summer Britain burnt. 3000 people died from the heat.

Yet this Government is drilling for more gas, despite scientist warnings & it won't make a difference to bills in the UK.

We need to double down on renewables, not bend to the wishes of fossil fuel bosses.

The British state has lost the argument, even as it rigs the trials of genocide opponents
The UK isn’t a dispassionate arbiter of justice in prosecuting anti-genocide activists. It has been aggressively colluding in Israeli crimes. That huge conflict of interest is the elephant in the room

i tricked you, it's going to be about the demonstrative pronouns "this" and "that", cos they're fucking weird and not even many hungarians realise how weird they are

their basic form is "ez" and "az", so far nothing fishy

It's hard to predict what Parliament would look like under a system where people can vote for what they truly believe in.

But one thing is clear: First Past the Post distorts election results and undermines trust in democracy.

It's time for change.

The country needs electoral reform – and Labour has the chance to be on the right side of this argument
First-past-the-post is failing. Representatives are being elected on 20 per cent of the vote and less. That is not a democratic mandate.

- absence of colonial history in schools
- wilful ignorance of politicians & media

- and the East India Company's lasting corruption of British democracy 🤑

History shows us there are 2 options when faced with a rising far right.
1. Deal with it quickly and decisively.
2. Let it win.
The great majority reject it. But it doesn't need majority support: just enough thugs to intimidate everyone else. Weakness and indecision by government let it rise.
The government must treat this as the emergency it is. Our sovereignty, democracy, and the lives of some of those who live here are threatened by a deadly combination of US billionaires, Russian interests and homegrown fascists. Step 1: Get the money out of politics.🧵

There is a reason why most of the world's stable and successful democracies use proportional voting systems.

PR isn't just fairer and more democratic. It also leads to better, more popular and more effective governments.

It's time to change the system and transform our politics for good.
