And how is it that they all went to school for 7 years and only end up with like 12 spells? Seems crazy being that it only seems to take kids like less than a week to learn a spell.

Yup. I read them all about 15 years ago. The Magic System has loop holes, the economy makes no sense, the academic system makes no sense, and the best characters are minor characters you meet for a total of 12 pages in the book they arrived in and never again.

Oh thats true too. I think I missed that demographic because I was too old when the first one came out.

Though ive long wondered if the reason they dont catch on, and the reason HP is so prevalent, is the built-in personality test/social club that people can "feel" like they belong in a group. Most of the academia books ive read dont sort houses or whatever.

Right? And also Right?! There are so many magical academy universes better and also queer supportive.

This list is depressing long but thankfully still no one i know.
