When I was a kid figure skating scoring made no sense at all. Ski jump scoring was clear as day.
I really like that both systems have changed to be safer and more fair, even though ski jump now makes no sense.

There is a boat in the port of Tacoma that is blowing its horn every time the Seahawks score. I prefer that to the guy two blocks down setting off fireworks.

I recently moved out of the desert to Tacoma. The grocery store three blocks from my house doesn't sell any loose produce. I wanted two or three shallots. Instead I had to spend $2.89 for this bag of more shallots I can possibly use. Asian grocery near a port is amazing.

I thought I might try the android assistant. Hey, Google, set a wake up alarm for tomorrow at 7.
But I tried this with no Internet connection, and got an error. It needs internets to just set an alarm.

Weather notifications need some more nuanced terminology. No human would use "colder" here.

Giving away personal objects is a signal of potential suicide. Unless the person giving the items is in the midst of a divorce and giving her shoes and purses to friends of her teenager. That's not bleak. That's awesome.

A few months ago I did something. Don't know what. But now my phone always notifies me about the scores of soccer games.
It's all silent notifications, so I typically ignore it, but sometimes I click and develop strong emotions about the Africa Cup.

Is there an AI that is commercially available that is not "generative"?
I want "AI" that can interpret human language, then go do the task.
"Find the old emails from these companies, and delete them."
"I need to drive to (all these places) and I hate left turns. Give me a route."

This is the third time that in a British mystery novel someone mentions "steak and kidney pie". And I wonder, is this some savory pie with beef and beans and carrots and onions? So I look it up. And it is meat and kidney meat, and it makes me sad. And then I forget and look it up again in a decade.

Absolutely. A cold downpour is just miserable rain. A monsoon takes the day from 100° to 85° in half an hour. It is hot rain, and is blessed.
Monsoon usually means warm. It’s cold here, those people are going to be so wet, cold and miserable for the next 2 hours
