...creating innovative and thought-provoking verbatim theatre. As part of the trip, students had the opportunity to take part in a workshop with the actors, followed by dinner before settling in to watch the performance.

Highlights included swimming at the Leisure Centre, bowling and an exciting session of inflatables. Working in mixed groups, students had the chance to meet and make friends with young people from different schools, while also becoming familiar with the staff and the school environment.

Summer School offers a relaxed and welcoming introduction to life at GHS, with students taking part in activities designed to encourage enjoyment, participation and teamwork. Across the week, students enjoyed taster sessions in a variety of subject areas, competitions and team-building activities.

The club meets on Friday afternoons throughout the academic year, giving students the opportunity to develop their sailing skills, build confidence and teamwork, and enjoy time on the water in a safe and supportive environment.

...school’s underground attenuation tank – a large sealed underground chamber that temporarily stores excess rainwater during periods of heavy rainfall helping prevent local flooding. Please note that, as a result of these works, vehicle access to the school site is currently very limited. (4/4)

Once students had left on the Wednesday afternoon, fencing was put up around the main school car park and, over the following days, heavy machinery moved in. Within a very short time, contractors had excavated a huge hole – somewhat resembling a large swimming pool! This houses the new... (3/4)

Colleagues continued the mammoth task during two dedicated packing days on Thursday 16th and Friday 17th July. Thanks to everyone’s incredible teamwork and determination, the majority of the packing was completed by the end of the first day, with the remaining areas finished on Friday. (2/4)
