Me too. Family friend who was sweet on my uncle suddenly came down with polio after a lakeside picnic. My uncle and two others all got gamma globulin shots and spent weeks in high anxiety. We would visit her in her iron lung, and later that chest ventilation device. Frightening. Saulk vax saved us

So sorry to hear of your shingles attack. Some 20 years ago I met an old rancher “over the fence”. He pulled down his bib overalls to show me the shingles that were agonizing him. He was about 80.
Went and got my vax at about 65yo.
Truly thankful to be guarded by this gift of medical research.

I clearly recall as a kid in South Texas in the 60s seeing these boxes that contained sterile flies laying around ranch land. Even as a young “tween” I thought “How great it is that our government is doing this to protect the cattle and deer!” Silly me to think that a DOGE kid would can it. FDJT
