Having both lived and worked around people in various stages of cognitive decline I would suggest another option. It could easily be the case that those around him know just how pointless trying to correct whatever he says actually is.

I deeply respect you, Marc. I would nonetheless note that none of this matters at this point. Knowing what’s coming won’t change it. It will take an army of the willing to bring about the changes necessary to right this ship

It won’t ever happen without a Normandy Beach kind of effort - and about just as much planning and coordination on the back end.
